Soccer... for JAKEY!

Jake was born the day before Alyssa's very first soccer game. He made his first appearance at Alyssa's soccer practice when he was 4 days old! He has been going to her practices and games his ENTIRE LIFE! After waiting a lifetime he is finally old enough to play.  Jakey is part of the Fantastic Five!  More on the team name in a bit.  He did awesome at his first practice. He was dressed and ready to go an entire hour before we had to leave. He couldn't wait to get out there.  I was a bit nervous about his attitude at practice.  Anyone that spends time around us knows that Jakey is famous for crying, throwing fits, yelling, "I'm mad" and can just be a pill in general.  The only time this doesn't apply, so I hear, is at school.  So with that I wasn't sure how he was going to do at soccer. The coach gets all the kids together at the beginning of practice as says remember the rules, no crying, no kicking, no biting. You would have thought he was speaking directly to Jakey.  Apparently this is a common theme among boys his age. Whew! He ran all the drills, did everything he was supposed with a smile on his face the entire time! Jakey rocked soccer practice!!!

We started telling Jakey to think of name for his team. The coach is going to ask. He said I want to be Supersonic.  We told him nicely that was his sister's team name, think of a name just for your team, for boys.  So what does Jakey suggest when the coach asks for names?  He raises his hand and says, "Supersonic".  The coaches daughter played against Alyssa and Supersonic so he knew exactly where the name came from. haha! The rest of the team didn't say a word.  Quite the difference between boys and girls. The girls always have a name to suggest.  So the coach picked the name. The team will be orange and blue and they will be named Fantastic Five. Cute!

Can't wait for the season. Jakey has been watching his sister all these years and it shows on the field. He is trying the same little move his sister does with the outside of the foot. Hopefully he doesn't copy her move from her first season of soccer where she used the entire field to turn the ball around.  Hilarious!
