My future little quarterback

Jake started his new class on Friday, Little QB's. I'm so so glad we battled through Little Dunkers because it sure made all the difference. Jake stood on the line and started warm ups without me and proceeded to complete all of the drills without having a meltdown. Progress! He really enjoyed diving with the ball in the "end zone". I'm actually looking forward to his next class. Great job, Jakey!

Touchdown!

Saturday we enjoyed wine tasting in Temecula with the Gettys. So much fun! We've been talking about this for a year. Better start planning now if we ever want to do it again. :) As soon as I get pictures I'll post them. On second thought, maybe not. Ha! I would definitely recommend this outing to everyone, but don't forget your driver!

Referring back to my last blog about our beach experience....I'm happy to report that some of the pictures actually turned out really well. We were so pleased with several of the shots. Hopefully you'll see a few pictures hanging in our house soon.

Family Photos at the Beach

On Saturday we had a photo session at Coronado Beach. I was so excited to have family pictures taken on the beach. We had a very successful experience with the same photographer when Alyssa was 3 years old so I was hoping for the same with Jake. I was so wrong. The first mistake I made was not knowing that Jake HATES the sand on his feet. Something you'd think I would have known BEFORE scheduling pictures on the beach. Oh well. The photographer was wonderful with the kids and hopefully we got a few good shots. Next time we are headed to the park!

Sebastian got a few good pictures with our camera.

Of course he decides he likes the sand after the photographer leaves
(quite possibly the only good picture of Jake from the entire day)

This sums up the entire photo session

And this one....
The photographer says after only a few minutes with Jake, "wow he is ALL boy"
That's one way to put it

At least we were able to see a beautiful sunset

What goes around comes around for Jakey...

As EVERYONE knows my son is a "former" pusher (or so I'd like to think). On a very regular basis he will say out of the blue, "I push Mady." To what we respond, "no, you don't push Mady." And now he will say giggling, "I say hi Mady." (Just goes to show how much we discuss pushing in our house) Poor Mady was the recipient of way too many pushes from Jakey. He has always been the pusher, not the pushee. So Saturday night we saw Ava, or Eva as he likes to call her, and as we were standing around she pushed him. The utter look of shock and disbelief on his face was beyond priceless. I don't think he could actually believe that someone pushed him. He immediately looked at me and said, "Ava pushed me." (he's also a tattletale by the way) Hmmm...didn't like it very much son, now did you? I'm hoping that being pushed by a one year old little girl taught him a very valuable lesson about NOT pushing....a mother can dream.

Back on track

I'm finally caught up again. Whew, that was close.

We are nearing the end of cooking and Little Dunkers. I better hustle and find some new activities.

Alyssa learned how to make crispy wontons. Looks delicious. Hope she can show her mom her new recipe.

Proudly displaying the remainder of her wontons

It finally happened....Jake had an awesome class! Way to go Jakey! He completed his warm-ups without me and did all the drills without having a meltdown. Too bad he only has one more class to go. Just when he's finally decided to go along with the program.

Completing the obstacle course

The kids took their first trip to Dave and Buster's for Isa's 7th birthday party. Jake had a blast sitting behind all the steering wheels and Alyssa had fun trying to earn as many tickets as possible. Great idea for a birthday party and wonderful time had by all.

The monkey prize Alyssa chose with her tickets

Jakey having fun "driving"...just wait until we actually pay for the game..he doesn't even know what he's missing

On Sunday Jake was finally able to go to his very first Disney on Ice show. Lighting McQueen and friends were preforming so he had to be there (says his mom). Turns out he's not that interested in these shows. Surprise surprise. Don't get me wrong, he was great, but once their performance was over he told me he wanted to go home and take a nap. Hum.... Maybe I should have taken my queue when I tried to put him in Auntie Michelle's car to go and he didn't want to get in and said he wanted to stay home. He sat through the remainder of the performance like a champ and enjoyed some popcorn. Maybe his next show should be monster trucks or anything loud that involves tires. :) Alyssa enjoyed watching the show eating her popcorn and spending time with all of us. Overall it was a good time.
