Tournament season has officially begun! We spent this past weekend in Riverside.  Why the heck can't we go to a few tournaments in beautiful, cool locations.  This tournament was a real scorcher!  I'm talking see the heatwave lines coming off the turf fields, bloody noses kind of H.O.T.!!! In the end it was well worth it. These girls fought hard all weekend long.  5 games in 2 days is a lot to ask in the heat. Sunday they battled all day long. They were up bright and early for 6:00 am team breakfast followed by an 8:00 am must win game to advance to the semifinals.  Advanced to semifinals for a game at 2:15 pm. Down at the half 0-1, listened to a phenomenal pep talk by their coach, with a little yelling mixed in, and came back after the half to tie it up. Game went to PK's and the girls WON!  On to the finals, third game of the day, a game that was supposed to start at 6:15 pm, which really started closer to 6:40 pm, with crazy winds that picked up late in the afternoon and the poor girls had been at the field for hours at this point.  They gave all they had left to give, but just didn't end in their favor. Lost 2-0 to the team who won the tournament last year.  Couldn't be prouder! Lis played a terrific tournament, tried her hardest and that is all you could possibly ask for.  First of many tournaments for the summer!

Ever wonder what a HORRIBLE ref looks like?  This guy was terrible. Had him for a center ref during semi-finals and then a line ref for finals. YIKES! Hate when the ref forgets to track time and has to be reminded by the side ref.  Or when half the field is yelling for a sub and he casually turns around like you talking to me?One of the parents sent this to me so we will never forget.  Hilarious!

Jakey didn't play any games, but he was still at those fields all day long. He played hard with his friends. Fell asleep in the car on the way home, carried him to the stairs and told him to walk up to bed while we unloaded the car.  We came in to find him sound asleep on the stairs. Pool little guy!

While trying to decide if Jake was going to play AYSO in the fall we missed two early registrations.  Of course we finally decide he will play the night before the last early registration and the night before we leave for the soccer tournament. Big thanks to MLW for signing him up!!!

Alyssa has started the orthodontia process. Can't see her brackets and rubber bands in this picture, but trying to fix her under/over bite prior to her full set of braces being put on. By the look of this picture my teeth look quite similar to hers. Guess I have no one to blame but myself for those chompers.
