Pumpkin Patch and Flu Season

As you can see, no soccer pictures this week. Alyssa came down with some sort of virus that kept her home from school and soccer. She was extremely upset that the doctor told her she needed to rest for 3 -4 days and NO SOCCER! While mom and dad were in Vegas for the U2 concert she was stuck on Nana's couch all weekend. She did however call us and try to plead her case that she should be allowed to go to soccer and either watch or play at least one quarter. Nothing doing! She needed the rest! She is FINALLY feeling better. Whew! Jake is all better as well. Let's hope for a healthy family!

Between illnesses we took the kids to the pumpkin patch. This was Jake's first visit he was actually able to enjoy. He rode the train (he absolutely loves trains) and the swings. I wish the pictures did his experience justice. He was completely stiff the entire time and would only move his eyes! (pictures below) It was hilarious. He did however say he had fun. Classic Jake! Alyssa also enjoyed her time with Brent sliding down the slides and picking out pumpkins.

Week of Firsts...and Soccer!

First day of first grade....take 2!

Alyssa started at Calvary Christian Academy on Monday. We decided to transfer her for many reasons and boy what a great decision we made! She seems very happy and is already learning so much.

Lava girls won their game on Saturday (finally) despite missing 3 players. It was a very exciting and action filled game. Alyssa scored 4 goals and blocked many goal attempts by the other team. Thanks to Brent for the pictures and for showing up at 9:00 am on a Saturday morning!

Jake went to Disneyland for his very first trip! He wasn't quite sure what to make of it at first, but ended up having a great time. Brent joined in on the fun and sure made the trip for the kids.

Vegas baby, Vegas, soccer and old friends

The Serrano family was off on a much needed road trip to VEGAS! A favorite destination to a few of our family members. We were able to spend quality family time together going shopping (moms favorite) and what else but CIRCUS CIRCUS (Lissy's very favorite place). She loves to go with her dad and play lots of games. This trip they were very successful at the bottle ring toss and she came home with her very own keyboard and karaoke machine. Jake was also able to get in on the action this trip and learned to play air hockey and some other random game that included hitting something with a mallet. He was in heaven.

We got back from our trip just in time for Saturday's soccer game. Lava Girls took a loss to the Cheetah Girls! I have to admit after only losing two games the entire past two seasons, this losing business is tough to swallow! Lis played hard and scored one goal. Hopefully next weekend the Lava Girls will take a big W!

We also went to the SDSU football game with a few old friends. This was Jake's first football game and he seemed to really enjoy himself. Of course Alyssa had a ball because she was able to eat cotton candy and ice cream with Brooke. Very fun!!!!

These two never miss a beat regardless of how long it has been since they last saw each other!
